Serialization: Tonari no Young Jump

Onepunch-Man is the remake of ONE’s original webcomic, this time drawn by Murata. It started it’s serialization in mid 2012. ONE’s art is not that spectacular but his stories are works of a genius. On the other hand, Murata did some notable works regarding both story and art. How is their combination in Onepunch-Man? Let’s talk about it.

Intro: Firstly, I am not much of a manga reader. I don’t really read manga as can’t quite imagine things seeing still panels Okay, I read a lot of hentai manga cause those don’t take much of your imagination. But I was going out of town for a few days and I wouldn’t have my computer. With only my phone in hand, I thought to myself, “This is a nice chance to start reading some normal manga.” Upon asking suggestions for clean, fun manga; my manga reader friends suggested Onepunch-Man. Thus the journey began. Continue reading

[REVIEW] Ping Pong The Animation

Ping Pong The Animation

Type: TV Series
Seasons: 1
Total Episodes: 11
Genre: Seinen, Psychological, Sports

When you’re in a pinch, say it thrice in your heart!

Enter the hero!

Enter the hero!

Enter the hero!

Ping Pong was originally a manga by Matsumoto Taiyou that finished it’s publication back in 1997. It’s adapted into an anime in 2014 by Yuasa Masaaki who is one of the best directors on the scene right now and known for turning low budget anime into artistic masterpieces. Did he succeed with Ping Pong this time? Let’s talk about it.

 Peco Being Peco.

Intro: Ping Pong The Animation is …obviously about ping pong aka table tennis. It’s an addition to an arguably dying genre, the sports genre. But sports isn’t really the main focus of the story. Ping Pong is like Cross Game, where romance took the limelight. But in this case, ping pong seems like a character study, a psychological seinen, with a very little part of sports. Don’t get me wrong. It indeed is a sports anime but it is not really about sports.

So a sports anime without really focusing on the sports part, how did Ping Pong The Animation fare? It turned out to be an excellent anime. Continue reading

[REVIEW] Eden of The East | Higashi no Eden

Eden of The East Review

Type: TV Series
Seasons: 1
Total Episodes: 11
Genre: Action, Comedy, Mystery, Drama, Sci-Fi

Order received. Noblesse Oblige. I pray for your continued service as a Savior.

-Juiz

Eden of The East was done by Production I.G. back in 2009 and it was one of the most highly anticipated anime back then. First thing that came to my mind after finishing this 11 episodes anime was –

“Eden of the East – a short nice mix of Death Note, Code Geass, Steins;Gate, with a good version of Mirai Nikki.”

Yes, you read it right.

This anime starts with a girl named Saki Morimi and a naked guy named Akira Takizawa [at least that’s what his Japanese passport says] with a phone and a gun on his hands in front of White House. This naked guy saves Saki from the police somehow. Turns out the guy can’t remember anything about himself and has 8.2 billion yen in virtual cash in his phone. Why can’t he remember anything? Why does he have so much money? What are they doing in front of the White House? Telling anymore will be spoiling.

Story: This anime has one of the most interesting plots and refreshing stories. At first the story seems very confusing but with steady pace, it picks up everything. In 11 episodes, it was concluded nicely which is very rare but there are some cliffhangers in the end. It’s a mystery that makes you ask after every episode, ” What’s gonna happen next?” It also has some mystery and sci-fi bits with a bit of action.

Intro

Hi, I am Frank3nst3in/Frankie/Franky but you can just call me Frank. I love Naruto (duh) and like anime, especially the shounen ones. So yeah, I have a bit generic taste. Nonetheless, I think, I can write good, honest reviews; or so I have been lead to believe. That’s why I have opened this blog, to archive and let other people read/rate my write-ups. Normally, I am very easy to satisfy [The guy loves Naruto, how hard can it be to satisfy him?], so I don’t crack down on the stuff I like. B-but, the things I do not like, I go super critic on them. I believe to maintain a sane, logical world, you need proper critics. But every peasant is a critic now thanks to the social media and I hate it. You’ll see either happy positive reviews or strong, negative ones in simple words as my vocabulary is …pretty bad.

I’ll also post rants, thoughts and other random things too, sometimes they even might be offtopic.

By the way, I am nineteen, a N.E.E.T. right now. I live in Bangladesh. I love first person shooters and addicted to FIFA. I have been writing informal reviews/overviews on anime related facebook groups for a few years now. My first formal review won 1st prize in a review competition and that inspired to me to write regularly. I have also started to write for an upcoming magazine. I am freelance right now.

Peace.
